Horsemanship With PurposeWhat is Riata Ranch?
A fully operational ranch for over 60 years, Riata Ranch is an nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that allows people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in learning how to communicate with horses in a way that builds trust and teamwork. The majority of our programs are geared towards youth, but we also have an outreach for adults and professionals, designed to build unity and better leadership that can be applied to the work environment. Here at Riata we believe that today’s youth are tomorrow’s future. we strive to see young people become confident leaders, develop strong work ethic, and realize their passions. Our programs develop and shape the unique characters of individuals: encouraging their passions, creating better citizens, and producing people of great character. Our Purpose
Riata Ranch International is a mentorship and empowerment program which utilizes horses and ranch values to build character and confidence. The program provides instruction to all people interested in learning about horses, the ranch and Western lifestyle, and leadership skills. It’s common to see shy young people become confident mentors and leaders, and it solidifies hope and courage to see young people growing individually, finding personal boundaries, and setting goals. Through intentional, focused training, Riata Ranch International presents a variety of opportunities for people to better themselves through horsemanship. Our Dream
It is our dream to share the Western lifestyle and thrill of rodeo performance with people of all backgrounds, helping them develop their confidence, pride, and integrity. Students make new friends who keep them honest, hold them accountable, and inspire them to be their best. We take our students to local schools, youth homes, and events where they can meet young people – to share their stories of empowerment, strength, and friendship forged at Riata Ranch International. Building A Legacy Our unique approach allows individuals to discover their talents, both on and off the horse. While we have an acclaimed Rodeo Performance team, The Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls, many of our students take the leadership skills they learned with us and go on to build careers in business, government, and education. The lessons learned at Riata Ranch transfer beyond the ranch into every aspect of our students' lives. What You Can Do at Riata In addition to lessons, clinics, and camps, we offer internships for college students, volunteer opportunities, and participate in community events. Over the years, we have watched many shy young women grow into confident, strong leaders eager to help the next generation here at Riata Ranch and elsewhere. Our alumni continue to be involved and are proud when they talk of Riata Ranch and The Cowboy Girls.
